Ingredients:
Preparation:
Place two slices of bread slightly overlapping, and roll them out into a rectangle using a rolling pin.
Spread with a thin layer of cream cheese. Sprinkle with lemon zest, dill, and black pepper.
Cover evenly with smoked salmon.
Roll up tightly from the short end. Wrap in cling film and chill for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Before serving, unwrap and slice each roll into 4–5 neat pinwheels using a sharp knife.
Tip:
Serve the pinwheel sandwiches on a cake stand or platter, decorated with fresh herbs or salad leaves. Elegant and irresistible.
Vegetarian variation:
- Replace the smoked salmon with:
roasted red peppers (well-drained)
- thin cucumber or radish slices
- finely chopped herbs such as chives or chervil
